Musiah Review: How Musiah Helped My Daughters Master Piano — And Life Skills — At Home

We wanted our daughters to learn piano a few years ago when they were 7 and 9 years old but, with both of us working, driving and waiting at yet another extracurricular activity after school or on weekends was too daunting, let alone the expense of in person lessons. After our 14 day trial, we were absolutely convinced. The girls loved it.
I learned piano as a child, and I was amazed by the quick progress by the girls, in both theory and practice. They learned to read music and play with correct timing. It was like having a music teacher sitting there with them as they learned each piece!
Just like a human piano teacher sitting there, Musiah corrected them in real time, very specifically about what they did wrong, in notes or timing or rhythm. They were able to focus on what they did wrong, and practice to correct it.
They were always so happy when they got a song right and progressed to the next stage, a real achievement. I love that this taught them to practice until you get things correct, a skill they can take to all areas of their lives.
They were captivated by the story line, driven to practise as they travelled the galaxy on a spaceship with fun animations to keep them entertained on the side, finding clues and making their way to "The Lost Song" and unlocking the "key to the universe".
It was so rewarding to watch them persist at a piece that seemed unachievable, and in such a short space of time, master it and feel so proud of themselves!
They learned to play complex, beautiful pieces, with understanding of the theory and the ability to read music, in a much shorter time frame than I did with an actual teacher.
We were able to stay home, they could play and learn whenever they want, at a fraction of the price. I am sure that learning music has helped them in their studies (part of the reason we had them learn music is how it develops the brain), and with mastering their chosen sport, netball... the skills learned are life long, and our daughters are kicking goals in all areas of life now.
Musiah is an incredible software program for learning music, truly genius in my opinion! We received reports on the girls' progress along the way, and Brendan was provided excellent personalised customer service during our time with the program. I highly recommend it to anyone.
