Musiah Student Plays Moonlight Sonata

In this video, former Musiah piano student Ali Hussain plays Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, which he taught himself using skills he learned in Musiah’s online piano lessons.

Today, I’m delighted to share with you this wonderful video sent in by former Musiah student, Ali Hussain of Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA in which he plays Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ (slow movement).

Ali started learning with Musiah in December 2014, and through regular practice and hard work, in February 2015, around two and a half months later, he completed the entire course — which is something of a record.

Since then, without the help of any piano teachers, he has used the skills he learned from his Musiah piano lessons to teach himself a repertoire of diverse pieces ranging from ‘Nocturne in E flat’ by Chopin to ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Here, with considerable poise and expression, he plays Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ — at less than 6 months since he first started learning piano with Musiah.
