Musiah Review: Mom Of Six Loves Learning Piano With Musiah

13 November 2015

Venisa _Mc Allister _Musiah _Piano _StudentToday, I’m thrilled to share with you this latest Musiah review from an amazing mom — Venisa McAllister from Williams, California, USA.

Not only does she have six kids (some of whom are learning with Musiah), Venisa is also learning to play piano with Musiah herself and is achieving outstanding results.

Despite her incredibly busy life, in just over 3 months, Venisa is now midway through Level 6 (of 13), is progressing at terrific rate and loving her lessons.

In her own words…

I had taken music lessons before and hadn’t been very successful. When I was in elementary school I tried my hand at the piano and the violin and later in middle school I tried to play the clarinet. The only thing I really accomplished was losing two clarinets. My poor mom!

I also struggle with keeping a rhythm and never really was that great with note reading. So, I guess you could say that my past experience with playing instruments didn’t lead me to be very hopeful about my ability to learn to play the piano.

But Musiah was really great in helping me overcome my concerns. I love being able to visually see where I am off with my timing and by how much. That is a great help to me. I also love the note reading games and the method that Musiah uses to help you remember the notes. I was really surprised that after so many attempts at trying to read music I was able to learn my notes, even the really high and low notes!

I am a very busy mom. I have six children ranging in age from 7 months to 15 years and I love that I can fit my lessons in whenever I get a spare moment.

There are so many great things about Musiah… I love how the program breaks everything down into simple steps so that it is easy to get through a song. I love that I can turn the volume down really low and play while my children are asleep!

The program is also really encouraging and I like that. I will admit to having tomatoes thrown at me once or twice and I think that is hilarious. I totally deserved it!

I would highly recommend Musiah to anyone who ever thought they would like to play the piano. With Musiah, ANYONE can learn to play the piano!

What a wonderful review — Thank you so much Venisa! Please know that your generous support is very much appreciated.

I must admit, you gave me a good laugh when I first read your review because you highlighted (imho) a very original benefit of learning piano / keyboard over learning woodwind instruments, namely that it is much harder to lose a keyboard!

Granted, this is not the first thing a parent might think of when choosing an instrument for their kids to learn, but it’s very true nonetheless :)

And congratulations on your recent progress. I’m delighted to see you doing so well, so do keep up your wonderful work!

If you (dear reader) would like to learn an instrument that is not only hard to lose, but also great fun, you have certainly come to the right place. Like Venisa, you too will be surprised at how quickly your note reading and timing will improve and develop with Musiah, and before you know it, you’ll be playing heaps of fun songs.

What people say about Musiah

I am 66 years old and just started piano lessons with Musiah only a couple of months ago. I had not taken piano lessons, or played the piano for that matter, since age 12. I just completed Level 7 and am completely satisfied with my progress. I really like the fact that I can take the lessons at my convenience whenever it fits into my work schedule. I can do it at home and don't have to travel for a piano lesson. I can go at my own pace. I also like the "objectivity" that the program provides. The interactive artificial intelligence is an awesome way to learn how to play.
