What Does 2014 Have In Store For Musiah Piano Students?

9 January 2014

Custom _year _bullseye _800_13194Happy new year to one and all. Whether you’ve been a Musiah customer for a while or you’re just having a browse through the site – Welcome, and thanks for stopping by.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Certainly, the holiday season gave me the opportunity to get back into some serious piano practice and this has renewed my passion and enthusiasm for the miraculous processes through which we learn new pieces and grow personally.

As I myself learned a number of new pieces and polished up some old ones (mostly Chopin), I found myself reflecting with a fresh perspective on all the questions you good folks have asked me in 2013 about how to learn, practice, memorize and master pieces, including how to continue your journey beyond the Musiah course.

So over the coming weeks and months. I will be gradually releasing a series of articles and videos to inspire and encourage you on your musical journey, no matter what level you are at.

These articles and videos will deal with such topics as how to apply phrasing correctly, tackling difficult rhythms, improving your playing technique (learning to play really fast and fluently) as well as some examples from my personal experience of where your musical journey can take you.

On the technology side, today marked the first day of work on the forthcoming Unity version of Musiah which will bring great benefits to all our customers.

The Unity version will introduce the option of a less animated ‘non-story’ version (mainly for adults) as well as offering some neat new features, it will make the app leaner, more stable, and more efficient, which will greatly enhance the lesson experience for both Windows and Mac users.

Once the Unity version has been released in a beta version for Windows and Mac users and thoroughly tested, we will then turn our attention to re-configuring the Unity version to also run on iPads and other tablets.

So I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this year and to personally assisting, supporting and encouraging each one of you as you continue on the path to unleashing your ‘inner pianist’.

For those of you who have not yet taken the first step, I encourage you to take our FREE Online Piano Lessons 14 Day Trial.

Thanks for sharing this journey with me.

Have a wonderful 2014.

What people say about Musiah

My name is Savannah and I am 7 years old. Musiah is really fun and I like the characters in the story, especially the green girl alien! I think it's funny when Musiah scratches his head when I get the notes wrong but he helps me until I get it right. Mummy helps me with my lessons too and I can even do them in my pyjamas! My favourite song I have learned to play so far is 'Hot Cross Buns' but one day I want to learn how to play 'Jingle Bells' too.
